MY CITIZENRE EXPERIENCES
I was marketing Citizenre without even realizing it even before I signed-up as an Ecopreneur!
When I first heard about Citizenre I was very excited and started telling friends, family, and neighbors about this awesome new outfit that was going to put one of their Solar Systems on my house and only pay them for the power the panels produce. When I heard from Allen Priest that they were launching the Pilot Phase and that he was reserving a system for me, I was ecstatic! I also told him that I had some friends interested. This is when Allen asked if I would like to be in sales and thinking about past experiences being ripped off by salesmen the last costing me thousands... I did not really feel like being a sales-person.... I had a bad picture in my mind of sales-people! Then he said I already was one! I asked what he meant and he told me that I already have friends wanting to sign-up and asked if I would like to make $300 for each of them plus 5% of what they pay for power.
Now, thinkin' a little.... I went *DING!* heck yeah! I have always wanted Solar and after getting an estimate for a system, I knew there was no-way we could go solar. Then Allen Priest and Citizenre came into my life with a way for folks like me to upgrade to solar without it costing anything more than what I was paying for power in 2005! I knew this would be huge just from my personal experiences with friends so far. I knew they were just as excited as I was and it did not seem like I was selling anything.
I was sharing this like News of a nuclear explosion or something. I am as excited today as I was the first day! This is going to be huge! I know there are millions of folks out there like me that know Renewable Energy is needed bad but think there is no-way to make the change much needed to help relieve our planet of the number one polluter DIRTY POWER! Just knowing of the increases in asthma for children should be motivation enough. Our generation and many generations before us have caused massive damage to this poor planet and everyday more and more people are becoming aware of the fact that change needs to come if this planet is to survive.
Many want to do something and have done what many of us already have like changed to energy saving lights, turned down the heat thermostat or turning up the air conditioner thermostat, drive less, recycle, and many other little things that together make a huge difference but nothing like what Citizenre is doing especially on the scale that CEO David Gregg has planned to cover 25% of the residential homes in the US with Renewable Energy by the year 2025 using Solar to start with.
When one of these systems is commissioned in an area where dirty power is produced it will eliminate tons of pollutants that would have gone into the air this is something huge that I think any homeowner like myself in this country would want to participate in. Imagine the grand feelings folks will have knowing they can join an easy solution and be part of a huge mission to destroy massive amounts of pollution. Content that they have made a difference in the air our future generations breathe and the over-all health of Earth!
More to come....
Wow! What a Day!
Man... the days are just flying by! All the work on getting the word out to everyone on the Energy Bill was exhilarating to say the least! It is so strange
what things get me excited now-a-days compared to years ago! Such as gettin a bunch of rigs together for some loggin' road racin'... There would usually be a
good 20 of us all armed with BBB (Balls, Beer, and Babes) as well as CB radios so we could have communication with others in strategic positions down to the
main road so we would know if anyone was coming the opposite direction. Talk about your Hickerbilly Yeee-Haw Good Times!!! It is scary to think the last time
we did that was 25+ years ago! Time does fly! Seems like 5-years ago!
If you bought up anything political to me when I was in my 20's I probably woulda almost broke my neck getting away from you! As a matter of fact before
getting involved in Citizenre about all I had done was vote and it was usually decided by what I had heard from my friends.
It is really a trip how Citizenre has been the reason for so much change in me in the last 15-months. I had never heard the expression "Peak Oil" and when I
first heard it thought it meant the highest price we would see for oil! Man... was I ever wrong! That was just the beginning of learning about other new
things like "Global Warming" which I had heard a little about and was already convinced that was happening with my own eyes from seeing My Cascade Mountains
in the last few years being less and less white-capped during the Summer many of the peaks get completely grey in August! Then the fact about some of the
high mountain lakes disappearing because there are no longer the mass amounts of glacier ice to supply them from there melt over time. Then also noticing a
line of pollution through the gap of the valley from looking from near the tops of the mountains... some days you can barely see the Puget Sound because of
pollution... it is like a dark "layer of DOOM" waiting to make its way up my beautiful Valley. I know its gonna come eventually and from the way things look
it may not be long!
Then opening my eyes to things like "Energy Security" "Energy Independence" "Sustainability" "Stewardship" "Permaculture" and many others has stirred like a
new life into me!
Another thing that really got me this last month on the Energy Bill and how we heard roughly only a week before they were originally gonna vote on Nov. 17th
that Senator Reid and Speaker Pelosi pulled the Renewable Energy parts of the Bill! This was a 911 RED ALERT and I immediately emailed all of my customers
and Ecopreneurs asking them to call their state reps and Senators as well as passed links to sign online petitions.
The first person I called was State Rep. Kirk Pearson and his office had not even been aware of the tax credits for solar/wind being removed from the Bill! I
then called Rep. Rick Larsen and was assured by both Reps that Washington State wants to do all it can to help Renewable Energy be taken advantage of.
Then it was on to calling Senator Murray and Senator Cantwells offices... I was really nervous before making these calls thinking "I hope I don't screw up"
then when a person answered the phone... all nervousness disappeared and the words just started flowing about how the tax credits have been a vital part of
the progress with wind and solar being purchased and put to use! Then all the jobs that have been created from the Industry may also be in jeopardy!
I felt I had a big chunk of the awareness that came from me!
I had hit all of the Blogs I post in and then on to my MySpace where I immediately sent bulletins out to
the 162 friends on my list as well as separate comments on their pages for all of their friends to read... I was amazed at how much attention I was getting
and everyone was wanting me to supply the latest updates! My friend list grew by over 50 in one day! The cool thing was that some of the "Green Friends" as I
call them literally have 100's of 1,000's of
friends on their list and if they also send a bulletin it reaches all of their friends who gladly pass info like this along to their friends and their
friends... and so on and so on! Within a couple hours you can easily reach 1,000's of people who love to take action on issues like this and send mass
bulletins. My friends list has just about doubled from other "Green Minded" folks in the last 3-weeks... folks like to be kept informed and I am glad so many
are looking to me for news and "action items" and have joined my friend list! It is really cool this feels like a Grass Roots Movement and the feeling is
stronger each day knowing an ol' hickerbilly like me can get some awesome stuff done with the help of the internet and many folks who want to make a
difference
It was so awesome hearing the vote had been put off! Then when the voted and killed the Bill my heart sank! Then to learn they passed it but only because the
RE stuff was removed!
I thought we were going to come out of the "dark ages" oh well! Let's all hope that the RE tax credits are attached to another Bill without it being tied to
the part about utilities having to provide 15% of their energy from Renewables... that definitely upset a lot of folks so I feel we have a lot better chance
if they separate the utility part from the Solar/Wind Tax Credits. That way hopefully it will pass! We have until the end of 2008 to get something done!
I think its cool that they are raising the standards for fuel mileage but after seeing we are behind China on that note it doesn't seem so great! That's
right, China. Yes, it was fully five years ago that they mandated that every car on the road (as opposed to fleet averages, as U.S. automakers get away with)
get at least 38 mpg, to be increased to 43 in 2008 - 22 percent higher than what our "landmark" achievement won't accomplish until after the next three
presidential administrations!
With each of us doing our parts I feel we can make a huge difference and everyday more folks like me are becoming aware of issues that concern us all which
just makes it... so... it just gets better everyday!
Pray, hope, or wish for a better world... which-ever works for you and do the best you can with what you have!
Peace,
Frank
