 We as humans are the only species on this planet that can protect it. We have a lot of work to do so, roll up your sleeves and let's "git-r-dun" our great grandkids will be proud of our work!

There are so many things each of us can do from something as simple as getting rid of old light bulbs and installing new CFL or LED lights. The prices have really come down on CFL's I bought some to replace our bulbs years ago when they were around $15 each. My last bunch were actually free from our utility Puget Sound Energy! A box of 50 CFL's and all it cost was gas to pick it up!

Another thing we have done is set our thermostat on our heater no higher than 68 degrees. In our part of the country I might use the air-condioner 2-weeks total a year. If it gets a little chilly we just throw on sweaters.

Any little thing we do is worth the time because they all add up to help with the big picture. So if you think like just leave the light on because you'll be back in a few minutes.... please take a second to shut it off... I guarantee... it is painless.

Two-years ago I was looking into solar power and came accross an outfit called Citizenre starting a grass-roots movement to bring solar to the masses. They are a start-up company seeking funds and are hopefully getting ready to begin installations soon!

What They Do

Provide a solar solution for home-owners.

 What I am doing now is reserving systems for the earlier installs. I will create the paperwork to lock your monthly rate for 1,5, or 25-years. Then, sometime in the future a Design Technician will visit your home. He will look at the last 3-years of your usage if available and design a system with the goal of meeting  your electrical needs.

 You will be shown a CAD drawing on a notebook computer of what your installation will look like and all the charges will be revealed. At that point you either accept or deny the system. If you accept, a minimum $500 to maximum $1,000 deposit will be collected. This deposit will be returned with interest at the end of the agreement.

 Then the permit process with your local building department will be started. As soon as the permits are approved the installation will begin. In most cases the actual installation will be completed in less than a day! 

 This gives us homeowners great independance from big electric utilities and also gives satisfaction of producing our own clean renewable energy!

Complete maintenance is also included with the systems at no charge.

The agreements are transferrable if you sell your home and if you sign-up for 25-years the system can even be moved one time for free to your new home!

There is also an awesome customer referral program. If you are a customer and refer someone through the link on your customer site you will receive 5% of what they pay deducted from your charges each month for the term of their FRA. A customer could actually end up not having to pay Citizenre anything if they refer enough people... now that's COOL!

What's New?

The first install has taken place as a beta-unit. The installation aired on the "Living with Ed" show starring the awesome Mr. Ed Begley Jr. on HGTV. The business model was also explained by Mr. David Gregg CEO of Citizenre.
